Sedalia Sweeps First Series of Year

The Renegades (0-2) offense came to life, pulling within one of the Bombers in the fifth. But defensive woes again plagued Jefferson City as they committed four errors behind the pitching staff - their seventh in the first two games. Justin McIntyre led the way for the Renegades bats, collecting two hits including an extrabase hit off the wall that drove in a run. For Sedalia, it was once again Ryan Flores that dealt the most damage of any Bomber in the lineup. Defense Deflates Renegades in Season Opener

After a lazy fly out to left field to kick off the 2018 MINK League season, Sedalia’s Ashanti Wheatley wasted no time taking matters into his own hands. After reaching base on an error, Wheatley placed himself in scoring position stealing second just a few pitches later, and scoring on a Ryan Flores single just moments after that. Flores would knock in Wheatley again just two innings later with a two-run blast to right field, setting the tone for the Bombers as they took care of business in Jefferson City, beating the Renegades 9-6. In total, Wheatley would score four of those nine runs, reaching base twice on Renegades errors. That would somewhat sour the evening for the Renegades early on,

Lady Trojans Advance to State Quarterfinals The Park Hill Trojans, behind a strong defensive effort from their highly touted backline, defeated Liberty North 3-0 in MSHSAA Class 4 Sectional action on Tuesday night. The victory places the Trojans in the state quarterfinals for the fourth consecutive year. This year's opponent will be St. Teresa's who will travel to the Park Hill District Soccer Stadium located on the campus of Park Hill South for the game which kicks at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday. The two teams met earlier in the year with Park Hill winning the game 2-0. Standout senior Allison Walls provided both goals in the contest in impressive fashion. Tonight marks the end of the regular season for both the Park Hill and Raymore-Peculiar soccer teams. Park Hill is led by senior captain Alison Walls who is a 2x All-State selection and a Drake commit. She has a team high 26 goals from her Center Forward position.
