The Hornets will have their first match against Moberly at approximately 6:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16. Top-seeded Kirksville and the winless host Dragons will square off in the preceding semifinal at 5 p.m. Monday’s winners are due to square off for the district title Thursday, Oct. 19, at 5 p.m. on Cameron’s artificially-turfed Dave Goodwin Field. Just when it looked like Smithville would finish its final tour through the MEC undefeated, Chillicothe used two second-half touchdowns from Josh Kile — the last coming in the game’s final minute — to knock off the Warriors on the road, 14-7. As we’ve said before here, if you beat the No. 1 team, you become the No. 1 team. First match: MMA 4, Chillicothe 1 Missouri Military Academy scored 3 first half goals, in a span of 3 minutes, then added a 4th goal late in the match. CHS forward Bryce Hague scored a penalty kick following a hard foul in the box on CJ Pfaff, in the 59th minute. Drew Toedebusch made 7 saves in the match.
