Uclick TV will broadcast three games Friday, Sept. 29 on uclicktv.com.

Chillicothe (5-1, 3-1 MEC) at Savannah (2-4, 2-2) Following last week’s 54-38 home loss to Lafayette, the Hornets will look to get back on track at Savannah against a suddenly hot Savages squad. As usual, Chillicothe will look to do most of their work on the ground on offense. The Hornets averaged nearly 6 yards a rush last week and feature multiple quality running backs, with Josh Kile and Brett Shaffer receiving the majority of the carries. Following an 0-4 start, Savannah is coming off decisive back-to-back wins after it took care of Benton (53-0) and Cameron (42-0). Savages sophomore quarterback Chase Spoonemore leads the team on offense and is a threat with both his arm and legs. Bishop

Week 7 Power Poll

Big Class: 1. Smithville (6-0) After what happened last week in Chillicothe, how impressive does Smithville’s 35-0 win over Lafayette in week 5 look now? The Warriors kept rolling in week 6 with a 42-7 win over LeBlond. Now, the next two weeks will determine if Smithville ends its time in the MEC with a conference title. The Warriors host Maryville Friday and welcome the Hornets in week 8. Will be a very interesting next two weeks, but at this point, you have to say Smithville is the best team in the Uclick TV area. 2. Lafayette (5-1) Wow. We didn’t see that 54-38 win at Chillicothe coming, but the Fighting Irish do have some special athletes. Diego Bernard went wild with close to 500 yards

Hornets, Irish clash in game with big MEC implications

One team will try to remain perfect. The other looks to get back on track. Chillicothe hosts Lafayette Friday at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium in a battle of teams in the top half of the Midland Empire. The Hornets (5-0, 3-0 MEC) — the top-ranked team in the uclicktv.com Big Class Power Poll — seek to keep their perfect start in tact against a Fighting Irish squad coming off its first loss of the season last week in a 35-0 loss at Maryville. “So far, we’ve played really well,” Chillicothe coach Phill Willard said. “We’ve been very consistent through five games. But we know we have a big challenge with Lafayette trying to contain their speed. That’s going to be a big job for our defense.” To

Week 6 Power Poll

Big Class: 1. Chillicothe (5-0) The Hornets kept on marching with a 42-8 win over a decent Bishop LeBlond team in week 5 to stay undefeated and atop the power poll. Chillicothe enters an interesting part of its schedule over the next three weeks as it faces 4-1 Lafayette, a Savannah team that is better than its record indicates and currently undefeated Smithville. 2. Maryville (4-1) The Spoofhounds did what they were supposed to do in week 5 with a 63-0 win over Cameron. They face another winless team this week when they travel to Benton before having what would be a mammoth showdown with Smithville in week 7. Maryville is starting to get some players back that suffered injuries early in the
